Presentation Assignment
The purpose of the presentation is to practice your business presentation skills in English.

You will do a 4-5 minute presentation of your Cause & Effect Essay in English, describing either the causes or the effects using multimedia software (such as PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, etc) and then answer any questions from the class.

Give a presentation on what are some of the most surprising or best effects from having studied abroad.

Assessment:
You will be assessed on your presentation skills, content, organization, grammar and expression, and PowerPoint design.

You may use notes, but you cannot read your presentation slides, a prepared speech (or your proposal essay) to the class.

People who read their presentation slides, a prepared speech, or their proposal essay will FAIL their presentation.

Points: 100
Length: ~200 words (on slides)

PowerPoint pointers

  1. Practice
    1. Practice your presentation at least three times before presenting
    2. Know what you want to say and how long it takes to say it.
  2. Presenting (do not read)
    1. Do not read your slides. The class can read.
    2. Presenting means adding further details, examples or explanations that are not on your slides
    3. You may use notes, but do not read a prepared text.
  3. Timing
    1. 4-5 minutes overall
    2. On average, it takes about 1 minute to present a slide
  4. Organization and Content (at least 6 slides)
    1. Title
    2. Introduction: Thesis and main ideas
    3. Point 1: examples
    4. Point 2: examples
    5. Point 3: examples
    6. Conclusion: (restate thesis and main ideas, action)
